The Story

Why I built Clutch Point Coaching

I know what it feels like to be the most prepared player on the court — and still lose because my head got in the way.

Early in my competitive pickleball career, I was technically sound. I drilled relentlessly. I could execute every shot in practice. But in tournaments — especially in tight games, late in brackets — something would shift. My hands would tighten, I'd second-guess shot selections, and I'd watch opponents I should beat walk off with the win.

The turning point came when I stopped treating the mental game as something you either “have or don't” and started studying it like a trainable skill. I dove deep into sports psychology, performance science, and mental conditioning frameworks used by elite athletes across every sport.

The results were immediate and undeniable. Not just in my own game — but in every player I started working with. Composure under pressure, emotional regulation after mistakes, confidence that didn't crumble after a bad game — these weren't personality traits. They were skills. And they were trainable.

Clutch Point Coaching exists because I believe the mental game is the single biggest untapped advantage in competitive pickleball — and I've seen it transform every player who takes it seriously.
